NICKI MINAJ NEW RECORD LABEL UNDER REPUBLIC RECORDS

Nicki Minaj has announced the upcoming launch of her very own record label as a subsidiary of Republic Records.

While the rapper has yet to announce the name of the label, she has teased several names.

Minaj said that the label will branch out to include genres outside of rap, stating, "Don't think my label is just rap, or black, or anything. We got some other genres of music."

The rapper also shared that Patty Lauren, her longtime friend and lyricist, will serve in an A&R role for the label.

During her Queen Radio show, Minaj shared that her initial conversations with Republic Records' co-president Wendy Goldstein on the matter came about by saying, "We got to do this big. I'm a female; you a female, mamma. You got to do this right. We gotta do it right. I don't want no little itty-bitty ting ting. I want to do it right."

This announcement of the launch of her own record label shows that Nicki Minaj is branching out as an entrepreneur while also continuing to make music.

Her plan to include different genres in her label could potentially bring a new and diverse range of artists to the music industry.

This announcement also comes as Minaj has teased the release of her fifth studio album, which will be her first solo material in over four years.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Minaj and her record label, especially with Patty Lauren serving in an A&R role.

This latest move shows Minaj's dedication to the music industry and her desire to help upcoming artists achieve their dreams.
