BAD BUNNY HIT BIGGEST ALBUM IN THE WORLD IN 2022 ACCORDING TO IFPI



The IFPI recently announced the winners of its Global Chart Awards for 2022.


The Global Albums Chart revealed the top 20 albums that generated the most money worldwide last year, combining sales and streaming figures. Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti took the top spot, with Taylor Swift’s Midnights in second place, and Harry StylesHarry’s House coming in third. The IFPI awards are unique because they take into account all consumption formats, including physical sales, digital downloads, and streaming platforms across a calendar year.


The chart features artists from all over the world, with eight of the 20 albums from South Korean acts, led by BTS’s Proof at number four. Interestingly, the chart also included the first Spanish-language album to be nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards, Un Verano Sin Ti, which spent 13 weeks atop the Billboard 200 album chart.
